Went to the Heartline Cafe in Sedona last night to dine and catch the music of Miller, Martin & Ki. Fabulous music! All the musicians are recording artists in their own right and enjoy seeing each of them alone. But when they play together as a group it is magical. They mesh together and compliment each other amazingly well. The group is Robin Miller, his son Eric Miller, Suzanna Martin and Patrick Ki. Since I’ve been photographing the local artists Patrick is one I’ve not done an art piece on… So here here are a coiuple of images I worked on from the live performance. I like the one of him laughing and my wife prefers the more serious one….

staff portraits dental office

Did a project for Red Rock Dental in Sedona, AZ photographing their staff for ads and promotion. We also did an art treatment and framed the staff 5×7 photos hung near the welcome window. Rachel sent me this email after telling me how much people liked them when I went in for a cleaning…. Here’s a link to the images.

It was nice to see you again in the office this morning. Thank you so much for the photos you took of the staff to hang in the office. The patient feedback has been terrific! People really enjoy seeing all of our smiling faces when they walk in. We have had wonderful comments about how well the background is blended and how each of us look so fantastic (including Doctor!) They have definitely been a welcome addition to our waiting area.

upright bass music photo art

Was at Marketplace Cafe here in Sedona, AZ on Sunday watching the LeAnne Lehman Jazz group & really liked the bass. Brian said it was a rescue from a restaurant that had painted it white and was using it for decor. This thing has amazing sound.  I’m sure that Brian playing it didn’t hurt, need a great player as well as a great instrument! Here’s an art piece I created form one of the captures I made of the upright bass.

wildlife image christmas card

Finishing up the ‘busman’s holiday’ in Delaware. We visit with my in-laws in southern Delaware where they are on the marsh with lots of wildlife. I spend my days chasing birds around the property and create a Christmas Card for them showing off the avian life there. Here is this year’s card. I’ll post a couple more from the past in a future post.

on holiday

Off east to visit family. I’ll call it a busman’s holiday as I always carry my camera with me. While on the trip got to see my younger brother’s band ‘Local Detour’ (Surprisingly good, fun band!) play at the Bridgeport Rib House in PA. (really good food!!)  They play rock tunes from the Stones, Bachman Turner Overdrive and the like. Of course, I decided to get some photos he could use for promoting the band… I don’t want to say the lighting sucked, oh wait, Yes I do. They had lights of different intensity and off color gels and there was nothing I could change. But still needed to get something they could use. Check out the color image to see what I was up against. I combined some different exposures and converted to black and white. (my brother is the bass player under the blue light which is why I went black and white, didn’t want him looking like a Smurf)
